• A meebo account is required to use meebo file sharing.
• A meebo user can send files to anyone. On top of that, a meebo user can receive a file from another meebo user. But currently meebo users cannot receive files from non-meebo users.
• Files sent through meebo file sharing expire after 4 hours from the time files were sent.
• Users are limited to sending files no larger than 10MB at a time.
• Users are limited to sending 30MB worth of files each month.

1. Double click on the buddy from the buddy list you wish to send a file to
2. Click on the file transfer icon
   
3. File Upload window will appear
   Double click on the file you wish to transfer
4. You will see the following within the IM window
   
5. Your buddy (using meebo) will see the following
   

There are many different apps available when you are IMing with a buddy! First open a chat window and you will see a rocket ship icon at the top of the IM window (see image below with the red arrow pointing out the icon):

That will enlarge the browser window, and on the right you'll see the different apps available as shown in the image below:



The applications are broken into different categories: communication, shopping, games and news & entertainment.

NOTE: You need to have the latest and greatest flash player installed in order to use the apps. To see if you have the latest, go to the following website:

On the page it will tell you which version you are running (there is a box that says Version Information, and below that it will say “You have version xxxx installed), as well as what the latest version is.

Your buddy icon is the display image that your buddies see when they IM you. A list of images is available for you to choose from. You can also upload your own image/picture.

1. Click on the buddy icon
   
2. Select an icon from the list

The icon you selected will be displayed as your buddy icon.

2. Select Custom Icon
   
3. File Upload window will appear, locate your image and click Open

The image you selected will be displayed as your buddy icon.

Note The largest sized file you can upload is 80KB. If your image is bigger than that, you'll need to resize it until it is 80KB or smaller.

The IM history feature is only available to users who log on to Meebo using their Meebo account.

1. Sign on to Meebo with your Meebo id
2. From your Meebo page, click on preferences
3. In the preferences tab, select or de-select Save my IM history to view later, then click Save to save the setting

When save my IM history to view later is checked, IM conversations after this options is enabled will be saved on our server.

Note: Disabling the logging of your IM chat history does not delete existing chat logs that were saved when the Save my IM history to view later option was selected.

The option to enable and view saved IM history is only available to users who log on to Meebo using their Meebo account.

To view IM history by right clicking on the buddy:

1. Log on to Meebo with your Meebo id
2. Right click on the buddy from the buddy list who you want to view the IM history for
   
3. Select View Chat Log from the menu
   The IM history window will appear
   

To search through the IM history, enter your search string into the Find text box.

To view chat by clicking on the Chat Log button:

1. Log on to Meebo with your Meebo id
2. Double click on the buddy from the buddy list who you want to view the IM history for
3. Click on the chat log button at the header of the IM window
   

NOTE: We currently do not have the capability to download or email saved IM history.

1. Right click on the buddy from the buddy list who you want to delete the chat logs for
2. Select View Chat Log from the menu
   The chat log window will appear
   
3. Click on X Delete All
4. A message will appear asking for confirmation
   Click on Delete All to delete ALL the chat conversations with this buddy
   

NOTES

• We currently do not have the capability to delete parts of the chat log for one of your buddies - it is either all or nothing!
• Once a chat log is deleted, it can't be retrieved again.
• The chat logs for your buddy won't actually ALL be deleted until you log out and back into meebo. It will delete the logs before that day, but not the logs for that day.

Meebo can play audio sounds when you send or receive messages via IM.

This is what the speaker icon looks like when sound is on. Make sure you have your computer speakers turned on as well to hear the sounds.

1. Click IM Anyone button located in the top menu of your buddy list. 2. In the Buddy: field enter the phone number in the following format: +12223334444

Note: The leading ”+1” is required before the 10 digit phone number.

3. Select either a AIM or ICQ account from the drop down menu for the Login ID: field.

4. Click on the IM Buddy! button. An chat window will appear where you can enter in your SMS message to your buddy's mobile number.

5. Type in your SMS message in the chat window and hit enter to send.

You can add mobile numbers to your buddy list just as easy as adding other AIM accounts. After adding the mobile numbers, you can send SMS messages to these numbers by accessing your buddy list. You can also rename the mobile numbers in the buddy list to something more appropriate or easy to remember as well by clicking on the mobile number screen name and selecting Rename +1XXXXXXXXXX number function.

1. Click the Add Buddy button from the top menu of your buddy list.

2. In the Buddy: field enter the phone number in the following format: +12223334444

3. Select either a AIM or ICQ account to assign the mobile number from the drop down menu for the Login ID: field.

4. Select the Group category to assign the mobile number from the drop down menu in the Group field.

5. Click on the Add Buddy button to finish adding the mobile number to your buddy list. Check to make sure the mobile number appears under the correct group.

Meebo users can pop out their chat window(s) or buddy list from their main meebo user page by clicking on the Pop Out button located in the upper right hand corner of the chat window / buddy list. This will allow users to minimize their main browser window and have meebo used in a very similar manner to a desktop installed IM client.

Note: Make sure you have disabled any ad-blocker software or any other software/plugins that prevent pop up windows from displaying for your meebo browser session in order for Pop Out Chat windows to work.

1. Click on your AIM account in the account status area
2. Select Set Profile
   
3. Set Profile window will appear
   Enter your profile into the text box
4. Click Set Profile at the bottom of the Set Profile window when done
